I'm interested in getting solar panels for my home. Please can you advise me on how to do this?

Thanks for the question. This podcast interview with Gareth Griffiths of Anglesey Solar and Electrical covers a lot of useful information -
Solar and battery technology is evolving very quickly, and the cost of solar panels , house batteries, and other related technologies are going down.
Therefore, despite the fact that the feed in tariff scheme ended in 2019 (which paid people for the solar power they generated), solar panels are still a great investment.
Gareth says you could cover the cost within 8 years.
And of course, you will greatly reduce your carbon footprint if you heat and light your home using solar.
Things you will want to consider are whether you have a south-facing roof, the amount of roof space you have, and how much electricity you use.
House batteries allow you to charge them when electricity is cheaper, at night, and can work independently of solar panels.
These systems can also be coupled with electric cars and charging points.
To work out the best solution for you, you are best to get a solar engineer to look at your home and give you a quote.
