Following discussions and consultations with Cyngor Gwynedd and the three local community councils, it's a pleasure to announce that Partneriaeth Ogwen have signed a three year lease for the Community Library. Partneriaeth Ogwen will be responsible for the maintenance of the building and our aim is to increase the community use of the facility. Gwynedd Council will still be providing the library service from the building, and the opening hours will remain the same. The room where the children's library was located is now available for hire for community use, therefore please contact the Partneriaeth Ogwen office to arrange. During September, artists Helen Harris and John Clinton have been running a studio to exhibit their work as part of the 'Helfa Gelf'. The exhibition will be open to the public on the 7th, 8th, 21st and 22nd of September and there is a warm welcome to all.
Dafydd Meurig, Partneriaeth Ogwen:
"In a period of cuts at County level, it's nice to see creative collaboration at a community level to ensure that a building such as the Library remains a resource for the Community in Dyffryn Ogwen. Partneriaeth Ogwen is grateful to Gwynedd Council and also to the Community Councils for their support for this initiative and we look forward to developing the building and increasing it's use."
The intention is to increase and promote the use of the building, therefore if you have any comments or ideas, you are very welcome to contact Meleri Davies, Partneriaeth Ogwen Chief Officer on Enable JavaScript to view protected content. or on 01248 602131.
